A little bit of Sewing

In between my crochet and knitting, I've also been trying to straighten out my front room, which I use for sewing and paper crafts.  It had gotten pretty messy, and I need to clear some space so that I can work on the Christmas Cards for this year.  As I was cleaning, there was fabric laid out for cutting to make a bag, so I went ahead and made it!

I had made several of these drawstring bags earlier this year, and I had it down pat, but I had to start thinking again about what sizes I needed to cut!  I cut the main portions out, and then cut two strips for the drawstring and the casing that holds the drawstring, and I ended up cutting those the wrong size, so I had to look for another scrap to do the drawstring.

All in all, I think it turned out pretty well.

A small pink thread crochet bag

I recently finished this little bag.  It's made from some variegated crochet thread.  Not very big, but could be useful.

A what? a bottle holder ? wow, it's RED!

Isn't it better to carry a pretty bottle of water instead of just the plain old water bottle?

How about this one?

Garden Progress & the start of a new HPKCHC Term.

The above are the before and after photos for my first HPKCHC project that I'm submitting this term.  It's a knit bag with an i-cord top edging and i-cord handles.

Some garden progress this weekend - I was able to plant some beans (the darkened/wet half of this bed).  Some pinto beans and a few mystery beans I found in my stash.

Here's a look at what the garden looks like right now.  I finished preparing these raised beds, so they are all ready and waiting for the tomatoes and green peppers to get big enough to go outside and for the weather to get consistently warmer.

One thing has germinated .. the radishes. You can see them below here.. the peas should not be far behind.

A finished project and my birthday

We had a fairly quiet weekend for my birthday weekend ... I recently finished this bag, which I love and will probably keep for myself, and we had pie!  Chicken Pot Pie and Apple Pie ala mode.  yummy!

Good way to celebrate my bday, and the day after PI day! :-)

A knit bag . . .

I knit this bag for another HPKCHC class.  It could prove very useful!  I crocheted around the openings to make the handle a bit stronger.

What about this white bag?

Another stash buster .. this took nearly a whole skein of a old white worsted yarn (similar to red heart, but different brand "Sayelle".  I will be putting this in with the other items that are reserved for packing boxes this year for Operation Christmas Child.  Some child will love this drawstring bag!

HPKCHC - first items of 2016

Well, a new year has begun, and I have signed up for the HPKCHC again.  This will be my 4th term.  I'm ready to try to do as much as I can to help Gryffindor win! :)

Here's my first assignment I will be turning in tonight.

A crochet bag for Detention January 2016.  I started it last year (last night) and finished it today.  Which fits exactly with what Detention is for. Finishing WIPs :)
