I really like this cloth pattern - it uses knitting and crochet .. and comes out so pretty.

These dishcloth were submitted for a Quidditch Agility Match - 200 yards in less than a week.  Do you like?

An Entrelac Dishcloth

So I made this dishcloth.  The knitting technique is called entrelac, and then I did a crochet border to smooth the edges.

Using this yucky yarn . . . difficult to crochet with . . but I did it and used up some stash.

Dishcloth or doily?

should I use it as a doily or as a dishcloth?

Doesn't that hat make you think of forget-me-nots?  So pretty :)

Here's my green pepper and tomato seedlings as well.  I've been having some back issues and forgot to water them for a few days, so a few were looking a little sad, but hopefully they'll bounce back.  I'll need to get down there and check on them today. a few of them need to be potted up to get more feet room.

HPKCHC OWL Proposal

So I'm going to do an OWL for the HPKCHC again this term.. This time I'm doing Ancient Runes, and it will be 20 dishcloths with letters/pictures/symbols (runes) on them. Hopefully.  Here is my beginning proposal image.

I'm hoping it will be approved and I can get started on it!

Couple more quick finishes . . .

Well, it's the end of the month and I'm trying to get as many classes in as I can . . . So here's a couple more quick finishes ....

I made two little baby / premie hats using the leftover yarn from my large shawl.

I also made this Atari dishcloth.  I created the chart myself, and it does say "atari" at the bottom, although because I wasn't careful with the twists on my purl stitches (I wrap the yarn backwards, and so I have to be aware of it or it affects the final product sometimes.) .. anyway .. during the "atari" section I was twisting my purls, so the words don't show as well as they could have.  The upper part I was more careful, so the details show much better there.  What do you think?  I'd share the chart but I'm unsure if there is a copyright on the symbol .. Anyway .. here's the cloth I made last night:

Lattice Dishcloth

I finished a dishcloth today. This one is knit and it's called Lattice Twists & Eyelets.

I took the picture at a little bit of an angle so that you can see the cables better .. What do you think?

Star Trek "Red Shirts"

For my 6th HPKCHC class of the month I am submitting for Muggle Studies (make an item for fiction fandom) a Star Trek inspired cloth.  My own lacey design, this could be used as a dishcloth or as a candle mat or as a coaster .. it's fairly versatile ...

Explanation of the Red Shirt phenomenom.  Any red shirt person who went on an away mission in Star Trek was usually dead within a short period of time ..

HPKCHC Jan 2016 Architecture Class

Here is a dishcloth that I'm turning in for the house cup architecture class.

We were requested to make something that represents the gothic style arches.

Items crafted on our trip to CT

We drove to CT to visit family for Thanksgiving, and on the way there I kept my hands busy.  here are a few of the things that I worked on in the car and also while there visiting.

There was also a small coaster made out of the above yarn, 

but I gave it away before I could take a picture of it.

HPKCHC - two more classes done!

So today was a slow day at work.  I had time to get some crocheting done.  I decided to use the time to finish two more projects for the Ravelry.com - HPKCHC class projects.

This is for Flying November 2015 - It is a magic flying carpet to take me to the TriWizard Tournament. (a dishcloth in muggle life)

After I had finished the "flying carpet" I still had a bit of yarn left.

So - on to the next class which is Defense Against Dark Arts November 2015.  The assignment was to practice the "kill" spell.  You could either "kill" acrylic (which is a method of blocking acrylic, which is different then blocking wool or natural fibers).  OR you could "Kill" some leftover yarn.  I chose to kill the yarn leftover from my Flying assignment.

So now I have two new dishcloths.  Pretty aren't they?

Absent :(

Sorry I've been absent lately.. It's been kind of hectic. Of course, that's always the reason. I'll give you some eye candy today though. Some projects I've recently finished.

The first few pics are of some crochet dishcloths / hotpads that I've done using ball-ends of cotton yarn.

Camoflage :)

This one is the same cloth as the next photo, but it's reversible, with a different texture on both sides.

The following picture is of a shawl that I made using a super saver skein of RedHeart (red) yarn that I had in my stash and wanted to use up.  I added white and black strips and edging to make the red yarn go further and make a larger shawl.  This was given to a very dear woman who could really use extra hugs.  Please say a prayer for her when you think of this shawl.

I'm making two more shawls similar to the red one trying to use up some of my RedHeart yarn.  One is Paddy Green and Pale Yellow .. even stripes .. and the other is a multi colored yarn ..   The crochet stitch I'm using is called "lemonade stitch" .. and I really like it! :)  You can find instructions for the stitch by clicking here.
