Using a very basic dishcloth knitting pattern, but alternating two beautiful yarns .. isn't this gorgeous?!?!

The garden / yard today
So I haven't been able to do much in the garden because I hurt my back, but it's feeling a bit better and I was able to do a little in the yard this morning. I thought I'd share the status of what's there right now.
First thing I did this morning was check the pots at the front of the house .. nothing has grown inthere except a dandelion .. that was promptly pulled, and then I added more kabocha squash and jarrahdale pumpkin in their respective pots. I also added more seeds that I recently purchased.
I also added more seed in the pot by the birdfeeders in the back yard.
Nothing had grown there either. It may be just too cool as yet, so I'll be patient a bit more before adding any purchased plants to these pots. It may be that they'll have to be used for tomatoes, as I have a lot of plants downstairs, but I don't have a photo of those right now, so I'll save that for another post.
I went out in the garden, and I wanted to get some onion bulbs in which I had purchased. They are red onions as we favor those. Here is the garden as it is right now.
This is the bed that the top half of the picture is beans planted a couple of weeks ago. I put onions in the bottom half of the bed. there is a 6-10 inch space in the middle that isn't planted, so I may put something there or I may not, we'll see how it goes. beans have not sprouted yet.
Here is the garden overall .. you can see some things have started to grow. . . .
Here's a close up of the peas, radish, parsnips, and carrots. The carrots have started to come up, but they are tiny yet.
So there you have it. The slow start to the garden.

Another finish . . .
I have been working slowly on getting some covers for the items that sit above my kitchen cupboards .. I was able to finish this one up today (all it needed for weeks was just the hem!)
More to share . . .
Here's a couple more May finishes for crochet ....
Doesn't that hat make you think of forget-me-nots? So pretty :)
Here's my green pepper and tomato seedlings as well. I've been having some back issues and forgot to water them for a few days, so a few were looking a little sad, but hopefully they'll bounce back. I'll need to get down there and check on them today. a few of them need to be potted up to get more feet room.

HPKCHC OWL Proposal
So I'm going to do an OWL for the HPKCHC again this term.. This time I'm doing Ancient Runes, and it will be 20 dishcloths with letters/pictures/symbols (runes) on them. Hopefully. Here is my beginning proposal image.
I'm hoping it will be approved and I can get started on it!

Garden Progress & the start of a new HPKCHC Term.
The above are the before and after photos for my first HPKCHC project that I'm submitting this term. It's a knit bag with an i-cord top edging and i-cord handles.
Some garden progress this weekend - I was able to plant some beans (the darkened/wet half of this bed). Some pinto beans and a few mystery beans I found in my stash.
Here's a look at what the garden looks like right now. I finished preparing these raised beds, so they are all ready and waiting for the tomatoes and green peppers to get big enough to go outside and for the weather to get consistently warmer.
One thing has germinated .. the radishes. You can see them below here.. the peas should not be far behind.
