Joel Basketball Clip

Joel played on the basketball team (middle school) and here is a quick video clip of one particular highlight. :)

I'm so proud .. yes, that is me screaming "wooo" in the video :) Sometimes I just can't contain myself. lol.

Tried this video several ways and this seems the best, although it's still not great.

Birding Today

This morning I went out to the end of Hwy D to see what I could see of birds on Lake Michigan.  I really didn't see much .. but I did see a flock of Canadian Geese, and I saw a pair of ducks.  I believe it is a pair of Common Goldeneye :)  If I'm wrong, please let me know! It could also be a Barrow's Goldeneye.

I do know they are diving ducks as I saw one of them dive :)

Doing Art

So today I'm doing some painting.  Trying to finish the blue canvas I did a month ago (was it that long? longer?) .. and started another canvas and a small paper as well.

Here's the sort of before photos ...

I did the black part of this yesterday or the day before .. the flower went on this morning .. Trying to decide on a  verse.

This is a paper - one of those dollar acrylic pads from JoAnn's . for me to practice a bit before I did the canvas ... I think it will look good framed when it's done.

Here is the blue canvas I did a while back . . .

I printed out a verse and just set it on there to get more of a visual .. What do you think?

I'll let you see how they turn out .. comment's/ideas are welcome.

Potting Up

Today I did my first "potting up" of my tomato seedlings. This is when you take the multiple seedlings that came up in the smaller containers, separate them, and put them each in a bigger cell of a larger container.

The "Delicious" variety of tomato was ready to pot up .. so I was able to get 13 different tomato plants from my 3-cell planting of seeds. Not bad eh?

I also had "large red cherry" tomatoes .. but they weren't ready to pot up ..there's 3 of those seedlings at the moment, and 2 of the "beefsteak" variety.

None of my green pepper seeds have come up yet, so I planted 3 cells of "Big Dipper" green pepper today as well.  Green Peppers don't seem to seed as easily as tomatoes for some reason.

I may try to start some marigolds or something a bit later today, or later this week.

We'll just have to see I guess.

Nature - Cooper's Hawk

Well, Caveat .. don't scroll or look at the pictures if you have a squeamish stomach .. I'm posting pictures of nature .. as it is ..

A Cooper's Hawk has been flying over our yard in the last month or so .. and I haven't seen any signs that it had been successful .. well, ...

Until Today ...
