UFO Progress

I've been trying to update you on my UFO progress for a few days, but my tablet won't upload photos for some reason ... :(

So here we go.  My BadCat Designs Summer Lace Sampler started in 2008.

I've gotten all 12 lace samplers knit in the main body, and I have started knitting the border on one short end.  I really like the technique of adding the border to the main body of the shawl.  :)

It's a lace sampler from Badcat Designs Summer 2008.

PEACHES and the Harvest

Here is peaches looking at the harvest.  Frankly, I am disappointed with the small size.  I fully expected much more summer squash, given the number of plants I have.

Today's Harvest

Forest Beach Migratory Preserve

This morning I went to the Forest Beach Migratory Preserve between Belgium & Port Washington, WI.  It's located just south of Harrington State Park.

The reason I went there is because there have been sightings of a large Crossbill flock.  I haven't seen a crossbill in person before, so I thought it would be a good chance to add that to my list.

However, I didn't see any.

I did see a Purple Martin .. several, in fact.

There was a pond - and several ducks.  I didn't identify them, ... but here are some pictures.

On the way walking back to the van, I was able to get a couple of photos of the Martins in trees and on a line.  I'm pretty sure they are Martins .. immature Males.

The following are a few Martins that were in a Pine right next to the Parking Lot.

I was disappointed that I didn't see any Crossbills, but atleast I saw the Martins.

Bristol's Book - Not Afraid of Life

I finished Bristol Palin's book the other day.  "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far"

I was very pleased that I was able to read it.  I recommend it to anyone who would like to know more about the Palin's, and the Bristol situation a few years back in particular.  It was well written, almost like she was sitting in front of me and telling me her story.

I also found recently that she has a blog through patheos...  I'm now subscribed. Can't wait to see how she does on the new season of DWTS. :)
